WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOUR PRACTICE OFFERS THAT IS REALLY UNIQUE?
We have an amazing team of health
professionals including a nurse,
physician assistants, cosmetologists,
aestheticians and massage therapists,
all sharing in the overall “family
style” approach to our patients
THE MOST COMMON MEDICAL MYTH I’VE HEARD
That plastic surgery will create a
pulled, distorted or unnatural look.
Many patients are afraid to come in,
fearing they will look totally different
after a procedure, but at our initial
consultation I assure them that the
focus is on turning back the clock
CAREER-DEFINING PATIENT
I’ve had plenty of hugs from my
patients throughout my career, but
the most memorable one was from
a facelift patient who shared her
life-changing journey in a television
interview. Being able to change
someone’s life for the better is
why I became a plastic surgeon
HOW I WOULD SPEND EXTRA TIME IN A DAY
If I had more time, I would do exactly
the same things I am doing now,
which would allow me to fit in more
surgeries. Additionally, I would
spend more time with family and
loved ones. I already fill my days; I
would just have more opportunities!
WHAT ARE YOUR MOST REQUESTED PROCEDURES?
Body contouring procedures for
the torso and breasts, particularly
Mommy Makeovers. We are seeing a
lot more tummy and buttock shaping
patients. Tummy tucks and breast
augmentations top the list
WHICH SURGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RIGHT NOW?
I love using new devices for
fat contouring and grafting.
Advancements in liposuction,
body contouring and fat transfer
for shaping are procedures that are
on the forefront of plastic surgery
THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME
Passionate, energetic,
compassionate
HOW DO YOU MANAGE PATIENT EXPECTATIONS?
I always focus on the patient’s wants
and needs. I sit face to face with
them as they share their concerns.
I firmly believe that we should not
just care for our patients, we need
to care about our patients
WHAT NEW SERVICES ARE YOU EXCITED TO OFFER?
We now offer SculpSure laser fat
reduction procedure and can provide
both the hyperthermic and surgical
fat reduction. The advantage of this is
we can customize a body contouring
treatment plan that utilizes both, not
just use one or the other
HOW DO YOU SHOW PATIENTS YOU CARE POST-TREATMENT?
Every one of my patients are given
my cell phone number to call with any
questions or concerns. Patients are
grateful and surprised at the gesture.
It’s always comforting to know you
can reach out at a moment’s notice
if needed. I also see my patients the
day after surgery and I personally
take out all my sutures. It gives me
a chance to ask how they are doing
and in most cases reassure them
they are healing well
HOW DOES YOUR STAFF ENHANCE YOUR PRACTICE?
I learned several years ago, particularly
related to facial rejuvenation, that
surgery alone cannot achieve the
optimum result. My staff provides
skin-care services including peels,
hydration, collagen induction therapy
with radio frequency, microneedling
and lasers, along with daily skincare
regimens customized for each
patient. All of these services provide
more youthful, healthier skin which
will respond better to any surgical
procedure I perform
THE BEST PART OF MY DAY
Working with my wife,
Joni, who is the manager
of our Tres Aurae medispa
WHAT ARE YOU THE MOST PROUD OF ABOUT YOUR PRACTICE?
The way our team approaches
our patients as if they were family.
My staff remains professional and
compassionate and have a passion
for helping our patients and clients
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DOCTOR/PATIENT RELATIONSHIP DYNAMIC.
I always focus on the patient’s wants
and needs. I sit face to face with them
as they share their concerns. I firmly
believe we should not only care for
our patients, but also need to care
about our patients
WHY DO YOU EMPLOY A LESS-IS-MORE PHILOSOPHY?
The goal should always be a naturallooking
outcome to “turn the clock
back.” Medicine in general, and
plastic surgery in particular, is a
humbling profession. Employing
a conservative approach with our
treatments serves our patients well,
and generates gratification for both
the patient and myself, which helps
preserve a working relationship
the patient will embrace for many
years to come
